Autumn's favorite part of working with animals is interacting with them and discovering their unique personalities. She loves experiencing their individual quirks, likes, and dislikes, which she finds as varied and interesting as those of people.

Jahaira R.

Jahaira joined the Ghent Veterinary Team as a Veterinary Assistant in January, 2018. She moved to Norfolk, VA from Allentown, PA. Jahaira is a mother of two (Gio and Ivelisse), and also has two pups (Leo and Raph) and a bearded dragon (Amia).

Jasmine's absolute favorite part about working with animals is getting to know both the pets and their owners, and the rewarding experience of earning their trust.

Alexis's favorite part of working with animals is meeting all the diverse creatures and witnessing their unique personalities. She also finds immense satisfaction in providing each of them with quality care every single day.

Katie's absolute favorite part about working with animals is their innate ability to share pure joy and love. She loves reveling in that joy alongside them, much like a golden retriever would!

Shelby loves seeing all the different critters that come into the hospital, especially when puppies and kittens arrive for some extra love and attention!

Becca's absolute favorite part about working with animals (and in the hospital) is creating a fear-free environment for both pets and their clients.

Michael (Mikey)'s favorite part about working at the hospital is the people he works with! They make it fun and enjoyable, especially with the running joke about people asking what he's having for lunch.

Makaia's favorite part about working at Ghent and Granby Veterinary Hospital is the opportunity to always ask questions.

Lauren has joined us for several summer and winter breaks while pursuing her undergraduate studies at the University of South Carolina. She began her veterinary school studies in Fall 2024.
